FAITH & SERVICE

I grew up in a home where following Jesus was part of everyday life. I was baptized when I was six years old, but as I have gotten older, my faith has become increasingly personal and something I have had to understand and live out for myself.

One of the primary ways I have been able to serve is through music. I help lead worship at TOV Community Church and play drums, cajón, and guitar. I also enjoy working behind the scenes with audio, video, and technology. Whether I am on a stage or helping somewhere no one really sees, I have learned that serving is less about having a particular position and more about being willing to use what I have been given to help others.

Missions have also been an important part of my faith. I have had opportunities to serve in the Dominican Republic, Alaska, and in several communities here in the United States. Those experiences have introduced me to people and cultures very different from my own and have helped me understand that the Church is much bigger than the community I see every week.

I certainly do not have everything figured out. My goal is to continue growing in my relationship with Jesus and to live my faith consistently in the way I treat people, compete, lead, serve, and make decisions. Wherever college and life take me, I want my abilities and opportunities to ultimately be used for something greater than myself.
